Stopping To Smell The Roses

Sometimes it’s enough to stop and smell the roses.

These climbers are blooming all over town this summer, scenting the air with their delicate perfume.

On my morning walk, I picked a few that tumbled over fences and adobe walls and pricked my fingers on their sharp thorns as I did so. Today, deadlines loom, blog posts need to be written and scheduled, but the little pitcher on my kitchen table holding my stolen bounty, will keep me quite happy as I write away the day.

Yesterday I bought some long stem red roses, deep and velvety, but these rambling beauties bring their own magic to the mix. Thorns and all!

I’ll see you back here on Monday.
