Magical Light And Mountain Views

Are the reason so many creatives are drawn to Taos.

Frequently, by the time they arrive, having made the trek from Albuquerque (or if they are lucky, Santa Fe), exhausted from a long travel day, they unpack, lie down and awake in small, dark adobe surroundings, devoid of the light and vistas they were told were here in abundance.

This little gem on the other hand will delight visitors with plenty of each. Light and views are here in spades.

A couple of weeks ago I showed you my daughter Angelica’s house on Maestas Road, that is currently rented while on the Market. The studio loft on the property was empty at the time, but Angelica has been busy furnishing and decorating the space to get it ready to show on airbnb.

These photographs were taken earlier this week of the work in progress. A mirror leans on the floor where the dresser (its new coat of paint not quite dry), now stands. The closet curtain was not yet hung, but all amenities were already in place.

Fluffy towels, high quality linens, a comfy bed, along with a well stocked kitchen and bath, make this studio the perfect home away from home for an artist or writer or anyone else for that matter, wanting to experience our magical light and mountain vistas.

The large windows open up onto 360% views of the mountains and foothills. There is a covered balcony off the kitchen that faces Taos Mountain with steps leading to a private yard (great if you are traveling with a pet), below.

The balcony is an ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening cocktail, while soaking up the sunshine we are also known for up here in the Land of Enchantment.

Five minutes from town, and twenty-five minutes from Taos Ski Valley, if a rural retreat (with modern amenities), is what you are looking for, look no further.

There is an onsite washer and dryer, WiFi but no TV. The dresser is now in place, and yes, there is a curtain covering the closet.

Perfect for two, but sleeps four (the futon couch folds out into a full size bed making it ideal for a family), the weather is warming up and there is still plenty of snow on the Mountain. If you are considering a ski trip to Taos for the upcoming Spring Break, but want to escape the crowds at day’s end, you might want to land right here.

The keys are waiting for you.
