Better yet, is an evening spent with like-minded souls in the Palacio de Marquesa’s gorgeous open plan living/dining room, enjoying a hearty Northern New Mexican meal, a glass of wine or two while listening to some of the finest raconteurs in Taos spin a web of story.
Weaving a tapestry of tales of times gone by here in the Land of Enchantment, these wonderful storytellers, colourful characters themselves, will bring Taos and its rich history to life for the lucky guests attending these events.
Palacio de Marquesa and Heritage Inspirations are presenting their Taos Winter Tours Series with their inaugural Local Flavor of Taos Storytelling by the Fireplace tonight, featuring artist/writer Anita Rodriguez who was profiled here on taoStyle last year.
Anita Rodriguez was born and raised here in Taos and has some of the best stories about the area I have ever heard. Known primarily as a painter – a show of her extraordinary work is currently up at the Taos Inn – her way with words and a natural dramatic bent promise to make this evening truly one to remember. Heritage Inspirations owner Angelisa Espinoza and Palacio de Marquesa general manager Asia Golden invite you to “enjoy an intimate setting by the fireplace at the romantic historic hacienda Palacio de Marquesa including a wine and cheese reception with a local classical guitar performer, a delicious regional dinner in the intimate living room prepared by your hosts and a storytelling experience.”
After working as a travel guide for over a decade in the Land of Enchantment, Angelisa Espinoza partnered with Heritage Hotels & Resorts to create Heritage Inspirations. Her experience working for variety of adventure companies mostly in New Mexico, along with her experience as a trip expert, itinerary developer, wilderness and rafting guide and her love of the history and culture of this area sets her apart from other tour guides in the region and make her tours especially memorable.
Asia started working as the General Manager of the Palacio de Marquesa a little over a year ago. She came to Taos from the East Coast when she was twenty and except for a year spent in Paris and some time spent on the West Coast, she has lived here ever since. She was hired by Tom Worrel (the original creator/owner of the El Monte Sagrado) to run a Charter school for children he started here in Taos during the late 90’s and her job prior to joining the Heritage Team was as the Coordinator of Public Programs for the Harwood Museum.
This series will run Friday nights during November and December, with the exception of November 25. The cost of attendance is $165 per person; ask about special pricing for children 12 years old and under and the local’s only discount available to Taos Residents.
