Gathering Of Nations

Iron Horse #1

Every year during the last weekend in April, the world’s largest gathering of Native American and indigenous people takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In celebration of culture and tradition, over 500 tribes and First Nations from the US, Canada, and throughout the world come together at this annual event.

This weekend, the Gathering of Nations will be held April 23rd through 25th at the UNM Arena “The Pit” in Albuquerque and Taos’ very own Iron Horse (Robby Romero and Robert Mirabal) will be performing on both Friday and Saturday nights.

A little bird tells me that the Pow Wow attendees will be treated to a sneak peek of the PSA Campaign Iron Horse have been busy working on, and will launch Globally, from Taos, this coming Tuesday, April 28th.

I covered the Summer Of The Red Willow/Change The Name Campaign here on taoStyle and if you missed it, check below this post for a linkback to the article. On Tuesday taoStyle and Live Taos will cover the launch with a shared post.

You’ll be able to watch the PSA on the Native Children’s Survival website (linked below) and have an opportunity to sign the petition to Change The Name of Kit Carson Park.

Robby Romero’s award winning, groundbreaking, stereotype smashing PSA’s for MTV and VH1 during the 90’s were the precedent for this one and it promises to be equally as exciting and controversial.
