Women In White

The Dalai Lama said, β€œThe world will be saved by the western woman.”

Tomorrow we have an opportunity to speed that prophecy along, when women have a chance to decide the 2016 American Election by going to the polls and voting for the Women In White. Because tomorrow’s vote is about ALL women, not just one.

Hillary Clinton stands on the shoulders of so many before her; women who fought for the rights of all women. Women who marched, spoke out and were jailed and worse, killed for their opinions. Called prostitutes (Mary Magdalene), burned at the stake, branded witches, women shamed and stoned, dragged through the dirt and still like the late, great Maya Angelou wrote, “We Rise”.

We rise with hope, we rise for our grandmothers, our mothers, our sisters. We rise for our daughters and grand daughters. We rise for all the women before us, who made it possible for Hillary Clinton to break on through this final glass ceiling, We rise.

I’m proud to have supported her for all these years. I was with her in 2008 and I’m still with her.

  1. Feeling very emotional today. Thinking of my grandmother marching in NYC in the 1900’s, thinking of ancestral grandmothers raped, sold into slavery, stoned, chained, burned, gassed and murdered in so-called crimes of passion; thinking of this incredible, miraculous opportunity we have to redeem their battered souls, thinking of this split second in history, this auspicious portal into a new way of being human, truly human – and amid tears and joyful optimism, I’m at the same time filled with dread – I pray we seize the moment we dare not squander.
