The newly launched airline and flight service connecting Austin International and Dallas-Love Field airports to Taos, is up and flying. Taos Air offers fast and convenient non-stop service from both Austin and Dallas in a 30-passenger jet with flights on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays this winter, for a total of six round trips per week. Complimentary shuttle service from Taos Regional Airport to Taos Ski Valley will be available to guests staying on the Mountain.
One of the most beautiful ski resorts in the country set among pristine, Alpine forests, Taos Ski Valley was founded by Ernie Blake, and built in the image of the Austrian and Bavarian resorts he skied, growing up in Europe before WWII.
The resort is currently undergoing a $300 million renovation, (since being purchased from the Blake family, by conservationist Louis Bacon), while maintaining its original, authentic charm. The renovations both on the Mountain and at the base, have given the once sleepy little Ski Village, a brand new lease on life!
Accommodations and restaurants are plentiful on the Mountain, but should you desire a little more in the way of nightlife, the nearby Town of Taos is a hub of live music as well as home to some of the finest eateries in the region.
Taos, with its storied history and cultural diversity, is also renowned for its spectacular recreational activities, along with dining, live music and shopping.
Famous for its long-standing reputation as an Art Colony, historic adobe homes, earthships, an ancient acequia system, fabulous museums, along with the world-class skiing in TSV, make Taos one of the most desirable and exotic destinations in the country.
