We have snow!
And with its arrival, skiers’ thoughts naturally drift to snowy mountains, fresh powder and fireside après-ski drinks.
So, if you’re a skier, (which means you can’t help but monitor the snow reports in resort towns, and you’re salivating over the ski vacation pics in your social media news feed), but with just 72 hours to spend away from your desk, you assume (perhaps from past experience), that Taos is out of the question.
Well in case you haven’t heard, Taos Air is in the air!
The newly launched airline and flight service connecting Austin International and Dallas-Love Field airports to Taos, is up and flying. No other ski area in the country offers this type of door-to-door flight service. While you can visit this website to find similar flight charting services, no other ski area in the country offers this type of door-to-door flight service.
A weekend skiing is possibly one of the most exhilarating short breaks you can take, providing you get the details right. That means getting the travel and accommodation right so that you get onto the slopes as quickly as possible.
Taos Air offers fast and convenient non-stop service from both Austin and Dallas in a 30-passenger jet with flights on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays this winter, for a total of six round trips per week. Complimentary shuttle service from Taos Regional Airport to Taos Ski Valley will be available to guests staying on the Mountain.
One of the most beautiful ski resorts in the country set among pristine, Alpine forests, Taos Ski Valley was founded by Ernie Blake, and built in the image of the Austrian and Bavarian resorts he skied, growing up in Europe before WWII.
The resort is currently undergoing a $300 million renovation, (since being purchased from the Blake family, by conservationist Louis Bacon), while maintaining its original, authentic charm. The renovations both on the Mountain and at the base, have given the once sleepy little Ski Village, a brand new lease on life!
Accommodations and restaurants are plentiful on the Mountain, but should you desire a little more in the way of nightlife, the nearby Town of Taos is a hub of live music as well as home to some of the finest eateries in the region.
Famous for its long-standing reputation as an Art Colony, historic adobe homes, earthships, an ancient acequia system, fabulous museums, along with the world-class skiing in TSV, make Taos one of the most desirable and exotic destinations in the country.
And now, thanks to Taos Air, getting here no longer means days of travel time!
Ticket prices for Taos Air charter flights are comparable to traditional commercial flights and can be booked at https://www.skitaos.com/taos-air or by calling 833-359-8267 (FLYTAOS)
