The sleek, modern design and views from every direction make this house one very Chick Shack.
Definitely not typical Taos style but I love the way it respects local vernacular on the outside, while inside it is as spare and clean as a tightly run little ship.
The efficiency of this house is apparent immediately, but so is the seamless way the inside connects to the outdoors. The passive solar windows, the energy efficient rastra- block construction, the portal that spans the building, facing Taos Mountain.
I’m also in love with the way it floats in the silvery Artemisia (Sagebrush) again reminding me of a small, sleek ship.
The Brazilian wood details against industrial stainless, are little details that say a lot design-wise.
I think it really works and would make a fantastic home for someone who has pared their life down to a sophisticated, Spartan simplicity. 3BR/2.5BA, this new build is a spacious 2,716 sq.ft with open floor plan, upscale finishes including Brazilian wood, and granite.
Great views in a great neighborhood, with convenient location (five minutes from Town, 25 minutes from Ski Valley). An attached, heated garage is an added plus.
The price of this Chic Shack is $549,000, for more information (and images) please visit The Lora Company’s site listed below this post or call Peter Lora, The Lora Company, 575-758-3275

Clean, simple. I could live there. No problem.
Same here!
