Tying The Knot In Taos

Wedding Season is upon us here in the Land Of Enchantment and expectations are high. I suppose if you are the kind of person to fork out on something similar to this 2 carat oval engagement ring then your guests will expect one hell of a wedding!

As the weather warms up and Spring is most certainly in the air, brides to be are busy planning their nuptials, sorting out a photographer like kate Craig Brown Photography and organising catering, and many couples are already heading our way to celebrate their wedding days.

Taos has long been a destination spot for weddings – our spectacular vistas and charming, romantic locations bring couples here from all over the world to tie the knot faraway from the everyday.

Several local hotels, resorts and Bed & Breakfasts offer Wedding Packages here in Taos, but I thought I’d tip you off to my particular favourites.

The Hacienda del Sol, featured here on the blog last week, is definitely on the list. If you are looking for a place to gather close friends and family for an intimate, small to mid-size wedding, this is your best bet. The lawn area borders Pueblo land and looks right out onto Taos Mountain. It doesn’t get more picture perfect than this.

Check out their Website below the post for more information on their Wedding Packages and what they provide.

The newly opened Blake Hotel at Taos Ski Valley is the place for those who hanker for a true mountain vibe, complete with alpine charm and rustic elements. You can house a large party, host your rehearsal dinner and celebrate your nuptials on higher ground, at the Bavarian or even the Phoenix. See my post on this stunning new addition to TSV and contact the Blake at their site (below this post), for particulars.

If it’s luxury you are looking for, with all the added perks and party favours, plus room for a crowd, look no further than the El Monte Sagrado Resort & Spa. You have your pick of an indoor or outdoor wedding here, with truly gorgeous surroundings and the best Spa in town. The El Monte can accommodate larger parties so if you are looking to celebrate your union with a big bash, this is the place.

At Salon X the phones are starting to ring off the hook, with bookings for upcoming weddings this Season. Brooke Garver is the Salon’s in-house go to stylist for weddings and events. Highly in demand, it would be smart to book Brooke and her team early. A facial with Tianna the day prior to your wedding, to get your skin really glowing, is not a bad idea either.
