And Bridesmaids and Flower Girls! The dress and the hair are the first things on every Bride to be’s mind, as they start planning their big day.
The image you decide upon will be captured for posterity in the photographs taken during and after the wedding ceremony, so painful deliberation is a given. For those of you travelling away from home for a Destination Wedding here in Taos, the thought of an unfamiliar hairstylist can add extra jitters to an already nervous woman in the midst of planning the most memorable day of her life.
Not to worry, we have you covered here in the Land of Enchantment from venue to music, and as we surmise that your dress is packed and travelling with you, we’ll start with the next most important item on your to do list. Your hair!
Brooke Chambers is Salon X’s not so Secret Wedding Weapon. An Aveda trained stylist with 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, she is an expert cutter and colorist who specializes in creating incredible updos for Weddings and Special Events.
She did all the hair for my daughter’s wedding shown here, and can be found on many a weekend, knee deep in bridal hair at Salon X. Needless to say, she’s very popular.
Brooke also happens to be an Aveda trained make-up artist and with Salon X carrying the gorgeous, natural make-up line from Anada Cosmetics, it’s good to know that if Brooke can be booked to do make-up as well.
Be aware however, that Brooke’s artistry takes time. You will need to discuss your party’s needs with her prior to the day, and make certain for time allowances and unforeseen constraints.
If Brooke is too busy to do your makeup as well as hair, never fear, Salon X have other expert Makeup Artists on speed dial.
These photographs were taken by Salon X owner Delta Cosette Bayer of two Brides having their hair done (by Brooke.) You can see the painstaking work in progress as well as the completed up does; one very romantic, the other sleek and sophisticated, One of the brides happened to be my daughter Angelica – that’s her post ceremony in the featured photograph.
As you can see, this is a time-consuming process, (Brooke is nothing if not a total perfectionist), but one well worth it, once the day is done, and memories are captured forever in the photographs you’ll look back on in the years to come.
Brooke is, understandably, very popular with Brides so be sure to make your appointment and have your consultation, well in advance. Salon X encourages you to do a practice run with hair and makeup if at all possible, to ensure a stress free and perfect outcome on the day of your wedding.
Definitely bring in pictures and discuss your preferences during your consultation. An image of your dress is helpful as well, so she can get an idea of the mood you are after.
