Partners Peter Kolshorn, Gary Feuerman, Dan Irion, brewer Jayson Wylie and the newest addition to their team, Christopher Mixson, had been busy working on the building since purchasing it earlier this year.
Featured here on the blog, the DiscoShack I imagined in my post, became not a disco, but most certainly a club of sorts. There are terraces and a lounge, two bars, a pool table, darts and TV screens aplenty (the partners plan on using a couple of them to showcase local artists) and room for entertainment. Not to mention the beer they are famous for, literally flowing through the entire space!
Taos Mesa Brewing’s original location (dubbed the “Mother Ship” by its owners), is housed in an old, converted airplane hangar, four miles east of the bridge on 64., and has been one of the hippest hangouts in Taos since opening in 2012. The fabulous brews aside, TMB has also become the place to see some of the best musical talent in a relatively intimate venue.
The new location has 24 beers on tap, wood fired pizza and other delicious offerings and it will be open late this weekend when the Alabama Shakes audience spills out of the park and into the streets, hungry and ready for one more cold brew before bed.
TMB are also providing the brews for sale at the concert itself – a coup for them and kudos to the Town of Taos for choosing local and rejecting large corporate conglomerates!
