Salon X has been buzzing this Summer.

Busy as a bee, Delta Cosette Bayer, Salon X’s entrepreneurial owner and stylist extraordinaire is not one to take her success for granted.

In 2007, she opened Salon X (with her former partner, who remains in the original location under the name Marie Fleur) and for the past decade has received The Best Of Taos Award – either in first or second place. 2015 was no exception when the Salon was awarded 1st place. Last year Delta who has trained with Toni and Guy in NYC and Jaques Dessange in Paris, studied for and passed the very difficult exam to become a member of the prestigious American Board of Certified Colorists.

The team she has assembled at Salon X are no slouches either; Heather Miro is one of the most accomplished hair stylists in town. From the Ba Area originally, Heather is Sassoon trained and also an excellent colorist. Heather has her own direct line and a loyal client base. More info and Heather’s number is available by visiting the Salon X website, linked below this post.

Christine Roberts has over 12 years experience working in the beauty industry. Christine is a creative and confident stylist who can turn out classic cuts and colour just as easily as the cutting edge looks she loves. Christine was ready to leave Taos and head back to the West Coast when she first applied for a job at Salon X. Thinking she’d spend a summer earning enough to make her move, she has instead become a valued member of the X team and brings great, fresh energy to the salon. Good Customer Service is something that Christine’s and her team have identified as being a factor in the success of her business. No matter what industry you are in, you need to understand that having your customers’ best interests at heart will work out for you, your business and your customers.

Jessica Boudreau, Salon X’s in-house Aesthetician and has been profiled here on the blog. She is highly sought after for her incredible facials and other day-spa services. Jessica has 20 years experience working in medical, European, and destination spas. She specializes in facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. I was speaking to her about her waxing experiences and she told me that she uses electric wax warmers. I was also asking how painful waxing was and she offered to do a treatment on me – I politely declined!

Jessica divides her time between Salon X and a high-end Resort and Spa here in Taos, but Tianna Bolchunos, Salon X’s junior stylist is also an Aesthetician and has just completed training with the PCA Skin-care line which is available exclusively through physicians and licensed skin care professionals only. The products are also available to purchase at the salon. Along with great haircuts,Tianna does color, manicures, pedicures and facial waxing.

Because Salon X has gotten so busy since opening a couple of years ago, Delta has discontinued having art shows in the space and has instead expanded to include room for storage and office space, along with bringing in the great, all natural make-up line by Anada Cosmetics sold at Salon X. Even with more storage and office space, Delta should take great care in what type of furniture and equipment she chooses for the room, as it important that she has the same level of productivity as she has at Salon X. She may decide to get her inspiration from somewhere like office monster so she has an idea about what is out there on the market for her to buy. Who knows, she may be able to find all of her supplies there and then so she can concentrate further on the day to day runnings of her business.

Getting the right type of furniture will only help her in the long run, as if her salon looks aesthetically pleasing, then it increases the chances of her getting more customers. It is also important that she’s able to keep her clients and staff safe, and that may mean having to implement relevant safety measures in the case of a health pandemic, like these health protection partitions, (https://www.versare.com/shop/health-protection/) to stop the spread of the disease and to allow her salon to continue operating to full ability. Sometimes, it’s the things that you may not have given a second thought about that can make all of the difference to your success going forward. If anything, it should be an essential part of the furniture.

Delta was recently joined by both Christine and Tianna for an intensive workshop in Los Angeles, to hone their stylistic skill levels even further! Next month Delta heads to Scottsdale to do a one on one training with one of the countries foremost colourists whom she met in Atlanta when she took the Board exam.

As if all that were not enough, Delta also eloped this year with her long-time partner Patrick Trujillo. Congratulations Delta!

With all this activity going on it’s virtually impossible to get all these women in one place for a photo shoot, but one morning last week I managed to do just that!

Please visit Salon X at their site linked below this post for more info and to book an appointment.
