There’s something wonderful on the corner of Bent Street!
It may not be Spring yet (and the Groundhog won’t tell us anything until tomorrow), but flowers are always blooming at Taos Blue, no matter the season!
And this evening, February 1, promises to be a very special Friday in Downtown Taos; a perfect opportunity to get a head start on your Valentine Day shopping, with no better place to start your hunt than Sue Westbrook’s gorgeous gallery on historical Bent Street.
The jewellery cases in the front room are a treasure trove of surprises, from locally crafted silver and stone pieces to the romantic Michael Michaud Spring collection Sue is featuring for the Holiday of Hearts.
Michael Michaud Jewelry is a world-renowned collection of botanical jewelry.Their unique pieces capture the beauty and exquisite detail of nature using soft patina on bronze, accented with pearls and semi-precious stones. Each piece is hand crafted and cast from the actual plant, using a technique similar to lost-wax casting.
The delicate bleeding hearts made from translucent fresh water pearls are an obvious choice for a Valentine but the orange blossoms appear so lifelike, one can practically smell their fragrance in the air!
Sue sources the arts and crafts she displays so beautifully at Taos Blue, domestically only.
“Everything is made in the USA,” she says. “By the very best Artists and Artisans from all over the country.”
Just look for the flowers blooming in the snow on the corner, just across the street from the Taos Inn. Something wonderful is waiting there, just for you!
